Centenary was originally bought through the efforts of staff at Stratford upon Avon branch of Marks and Spencers. The operation of the boat is run by a trust and financed primarily through the hire fees, with some small grants to support administration costs. The venture is run almost entirely by voluntary effort. Fees have to be paid by the Trust to a boatyard for fuel, boat maintenance and mooring. Other expenses include paying for the canal licence and insurance. Donations to support Centenary are welcomed, however small.
The Centenary Trust is very grateful for this donation to support its activities. The Trust also acknowledges donations from Streethay Wharf, Studley and Stratford Trefoil Guilds and the Worcester and Birmingham Canal Society, the latter following a talk given by one of the Centenary trustees.Santander gave a grant for new mattresses and cushions and some maintenance. The picture shows Linda Bradley with new life jackets donated by the Arden MG Club.
